I've just got a new "baby!" I rescued her through Another Chance for Horses in Bernville, PA. She was scheduled to go to slaughter the day I picked her up from the auction. Her mane had already been cut off to sell for crafts (grrrrr!). I've named her "Loretta" (as in country great Loretta Lynn). She's a Belgian, in her late teens, supposedly pregnant...and she's a big ol' sweetheart. Here are a few pics...they'll be more to come for sure! I'm in a goofy mood here at Max Crema's tonight...could be the crapload of Kit Kats I ate before the show (I love Kit Kats!)...or it could be that I've just had my first Mountain Dew of the day...who knows...I just feel silly. Played the part of photographer during break tonight 'cause Momma was trying to do her homework...couldn't get anybody to make a silly face except Dad...figures! LOL

The Bowers Chili Pepper Fest and the remnants of Hurricane Gustav...not a pretty mix...especially when the Pepper Fest runs rain or shine. This was my fifth year doing the fest, and the weather has always been gorgeous and the crowd large. Definitely not the case this year...but the show must go on. Thanks, all you die-hard pepper people who managed to huddle under tents and umbrellas to listen to my music.

Well, unfortunately, the time has come...the Hard Bean Hamburg is closing...another sign of the crappy economic times. I was the last act for the Hard Bean. No only do I have good memories of all the shows I've done there, but I also worked there as a while as a barista (can't say I miss those 4 a.m. wake-ups!) Thanks, Dawn, for everything...you will be missed!

So, tonight marks a first...the first show ever that my Momma missed. She has gone back to college full-time, and although she was on campus for my show, she was in class. If you've been to any of my shows, you know she's the one all over the place with the camera...so the job of "photographer" fell on Dad tonight. LOL! If you want a job done right, send in a woman. LOL! Anyway, showcased with Brian Peachy and "Not Alone"...sorry, guys, you'd never know it from the pictures! My Dad, gotta love him.
